KC Pet Project took over operations of the Kansas City, Missouri animal shelter in January 2012 and is the only "open admission" and largest animal shelter in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Within 6 months of taking over, the organization achieved official No Kill status -- something that had never been done in the history of Kansas City.

While KC Pet Project does everything we can to ensure animals in our care are comfortable, we average anywhere from 30-50 intakes a day and care for over 15,000 animals each year.
